About the 5x7 inch flying fox: A sweetly sinister little flying fox appears on this scratchboard. You decide whether to hang him head up or head down! I call this guy “Fernando” and he’s become a favorite of mine. Perfect for the bat lovers in your life!! Something a little different, fun and cute — just like a bat lover!!

My original artwork is made entirely with knives! Xacto knives/blades to be exact. This 5x7 inch etched scratchboard has been rendered line by line to create the image shown. The scratchboard is a Masonite hardboard covered in white clay and then topped off with india ink. Removing the black ink with sharp implements reveals the white below and creates the image shown. This process takes hours and is an exercise in precision. Check out my facebook page for works in progress to learn more about the process!

Want a less costly version of this original? Grab a 5x7 inch print on metal! Mount in a frame, prop on a shelf or use the included black easel for display!

Prints of my scratchboards onto sintra, an all-weather material similar to a hard vinyl! Waterproof and sunproof!

The ornaments maintain the charm of the scratchboards and are cost effective as a gift or little splurge for yourself! It’s crazy how much they look like the originals. They are limited editions - only 250 will be made of each style.

Each piece is individually signed, numbered and ready for wall display with hanging hooks applied to the back. Add a dangling hook and they are ready for a tree, curtain rod or anywhere that you “feel batty”!

Ornaments and metal prints ship within 2 days. Originals require 2 weeks to be made. One is a little brown bat and the other is a flying fox.
