ABOUT THE ORIGINALS

These large sized scratchboards will be created literally one line at a time. All of my art is made using sharp tools, by scratching into a board covered in white clay and black ink. I scratch away the black ink to create the image in white.

Each scratchboard takes over 35 hours to create. Each line will be scratched into the piece, adding color where requested. Otherwise the image is just black and white.

The boards are extremely lightweight (masonite) and will be cradled in back to allow the piece to float off the wall and hang beautifully. Framing is also an option -- let me know if you are interested and I will send you information on various options.

8x10 inches - close up octopus peeking through tentacle
16x20 inches - octopus with full diving helmet
12x12 inches - close up diving helmet window with octopus
12x36 inches - full octopus with all tentacles visible
9x24 inches - long octopus with most tentacles visible
Tryptic- 3-6x6 inch pieces comprise this artwork. The reflected price includes a frame, handmade from rustic wood and stained classic grey. Contact me if you’d like the three pieces without a frame. Framed, the piece is roughly 29 inches long x 12 inches high. Roughly 2 inches deep. Ready to hang with a wire. The style is shadowbox (each piece is mounted). No glass.

Color added upon request - increases cost of the 2 and 3 foot pieces as shown.

ABOUT THE PRINTS!!

Also available - metal prints of the shown “Octohelmet” with the whole octopus emerging from the mask and close up octopus peeking through its tentacle AND the spiraling octo “eye” are available. A wooden stand will be provided as shown.

Frames are handmade in a shadowbox style. They so not include glass to allow the scratchboard to show its texture. The rustic wood has been stained classic grey or torched to a deep brown and wire brushed and oiled. Cost upon request.
